II. Litholink Reading: It's Not Hieroglyphics

  • Be able to look at a Litholink 24-hour urine report to identify calcium, oxalate, citrate, uric acid, and sodium abnormalities.
  • Correlate specific metabolic derangements (e.g., hypercalciuria, hypocitraturia) with dietary and pharmacologic interventions used in pediatric stone prevention.
  • Demonstrate how to use Litholink trends over time to assess compliance and adjust treatment plans.
  • Distinguish between stone-promoting and protective urinary factors, and learn to explain these clearly to patients and families.
